Florence Welch Stars in Gucci Brand Campaign

Gucci jewellery ambassador Florence Welch fronts the Italian fashion house's latest jewellery campaign, channelling the 'spirit of freewheeling and carefree travel'.

Florence Welch for Gucci Since Gucci announced it would enter the fine jewelry market last November, many have been waiting with bated breath to see what Creative Director Alessandro Michele would come up with. Now the debut collection has finally been unveiled and Michele’s longtime friend, Gucci jewellery ambassador Florence Welch from British band Florence + the Machine, has been chosen as the star of the brand campaign. The fashion house owned by Kering has dropped the pictures on social media without disclosing the release date. However, at the time the jewelry collection was first announced, Gucci’s CEO François-Henri Pinault told French newspaper Le Figaro that it would include 200 pieces and hit stores from June or July, 2019. As the brand’s jewellery ambassador and long-standing friend of the brand – the duo previously collaborated on Welch’s costumes for her tour in 2016 – Welch has always spoken of her natural affinity to the brand. “I haven't really been an ambassador for something before, and to be honest I don't think that it's something that I would have even considered had it not been for Alessandro,” Welch previously commented, “What he is doing is so up my street that it feels so natural for us to be working together.”
