Sir Elton John Collaborates With Riedel

Sir Elton John has teamed up with glassware company Riedel to produce a new Amadeo Double Magnum Rainbow Decanter.

Elton John for Riedel Riedel has created a special edition decanter in partnership with rock and pop legend Elton John, with all profits from its sale to be donated to the Elton John Aids Foundation. Just 50 Amadeo Double Magnum Rainbow Decanters, each engraved with its assigned number, will be produced worldwide, priced at £2,250. Riedel will donate the profits made from its sale, totalling €25,000, to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Sir Elton comments, "The rainbow has so many wonderful associations - from hope and promise to inclusion and tolerance. We are delighted and honoured that Riedel is donating funds from this beautiful piece to support the work of the Elton John AIDS Foundation; funds we can use to promote compassion in the fight against HIV and support services that will bring us closer to an AIDS free future." Maximilian J. Riedel, 11th generation CEO and president of Riedel Crystal, explains his motivation for the choice of colours and design for the new decanter. "We create products for a segment of the glass sector that is all about culinary delights, enjoyment and a refined lifestyle," said Maximilian J. Riedel, 11th generation CEO and president of Riedel Crystal. "Nevertheless, we must not forget that there is also another side to life. Today we are faced with the dark side of this world – even within the circle of our own friends and through the news that we are forced to see every day."
