A Gold-Coated Billy Zane is New KFC Celebrity Colonel

KFC has tapped Billy Zane as the brand's latest celebrity colonel to push new Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ chicken.

Billy Zane stars as KFC celebrity colonel in new TV commercial To advertise its newest limited-time flavour, KFC has enlisted the services of actor Billy Zane, who appears in an advertising campaign completely covered in a gold coating. Billy will appear in TV commercials and a digital marketing campaign that is being used to highlight the company's latest limited time offer, Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ chicken. The limited-time addition to KFC's menu is expected to be available through to April. "The whole idea of the campaign is, you don't have to be a millionaire to eat like one." Zane follows in the footsteps of previous KFC celebrity colonels George Hamilton, Rob Riggle and Vincent Kartheiser, who appeared in recent spots for KFC's Nashville Hot Chicken. The rotating KFC celebrity colonel strategy has paid off from a sales and marketing standpoint. KFC has experienced nine consecutive quarters of sales growth, and people under 35 had a 45 percent increase in brand consideration for KFC from 2015 to 2016. After Georgia Gold, the fast-food brand is planning a "huge" launch for the end of April with, of course, another new KFC celebrity colonel.
