Mollie King is an English singer, songwriter and radio presenter best known as a member of the British girl group The Saturdays and for her broadcasting work with BBC Radio 1.
Mollie Elizabeth King was born on 4 June 1987 in Wandsworth, London. She developed an interest in music and performance while growing up and later pursued a career in the British pop industry.
In 2007, King became a member of The Saturdays, alongside Frankie Bridge, Una Healy, Rochelle Humes and Vanessa White.
The group achieved major success in the UK, scoring numerous Top 10 singles and releasing five albums that reached the UK Top 10.
Their first UK number-one single, What About Us, became one of their biggest commercial successes.
King competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, reaching the semi-final with professional partner AJ Pritchard.
In 2018, King joined BBC Radio 1 as a presenter. Her broadcasting work has allowed her to remain closely connected to contemporary British pop music.
She has also spoken publicly about dyslexia, having been diagnosed during childhood, and has supported efforts to raise awareness about the condition.
King’s career has therefore moved across several areas of entertainment, from performing with one of Britain’s successful girl groups to television and national radio.
