Max Whitlock Named Ambassador For Glasgow 2018

British gymnast Max Whitlock has been named as an official Ambassador for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

Max Whitlock for Glasgow 2018 Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European champion gymnast, Max Whitlock MBE, has been named as an official ambassador for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships joining Bonnie the seal, the friendly new face of Glasgow 2018. Both Bonnie and Whitlock were unveiled to around 160 excited children at a One Year to Go celebration event today (2 August) at the Scottish Events Campus. The Glasgow 2018 European Championships are an exciting new multi-sport event that brings together the existing European Championships for Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon along with a new Golf team championships. Max, who is currently back in training ahead of the 2017 World Gymnastics Championships in Montreal, is urging people to buy tickets before they sell out. The Olympic athlete comments, "I'm really excited about Glasgow 2018 - it is always great to compete at a multi-sport event and I have always loved it here in Glasgow. The crowd is always amazing and give you that extra lift. It can make such a difference to your performance out there on the podium." The event is set to take place in 12 venues across Scotland, including the SSE Hydro, Edinburgh's Royal Commonwealth Pool and Strathclyde Country Park. Fans can buy tickets for 84 thrilling sessions of sport starting at just £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s and over 60s. Tickets for all events can be purchased from www.glasgw2018.com/tickets and will be sold on a first come first served basis, with fans encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.
