
David Coulthard is a Scottish former Formula One driver, broadcaster and entrepreneur who competed at the highest level of motorsport for more than 15 years. Born on 27 March 1971 in Twynholm, Dumfries and Galloway, he developed his racing skills through karting before progressing into international motorsport.
Coulthard made his Formula One debut with Williams in 1994 before joining McLaren, where he enjoyed the most successful period of his racing career. Driving alongside Mika Häkkinen and later Kimi Räikkönen, he became a regular race winner and championship contender.
Over the course of his Formula One career, Coulthard secured 13 Grand Prix victories and more than 60 podium finishes. His smooth driving style, consistency and technical feedback made him highly respected throughout the paddock.
Following his retirement from Formula One in 2008, Coulthard transitioned successfully into broadcasting. He became a lead Formula One commentator and analyst, providing expert insight into races for television audiences around the world.
Away from broadcasting, Coulthard has remained involved in motorsport through management, business ventures and ambassadorial roles. He is also active in charitable fundraising, particularly through events supporting children's charities and road safety initiatives.
David Coulthard's combination of racing success, media expertise and continued involvement in Formula One has made him one of Britain's most respected voices in motorsport.
