David Beckham Signs Deal with Konami

David Beckham has signed a long-term exclusive deal with Konami.

David Beckham for Konami Four years after hanging up his boots, David Beckham has signed a deal with the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer has always vied with EA Sports' FIFA for the year's best football game. To get an edge over its competitor, Konami has packed new features into this year's edition -- along with licensing some celebrity sport stars to include in your squad. The former footballer is joining the roster of legends for Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2018, which launches on September 14. RELATED: Biotherm Signs David Beckham as First Global Ambassador Konami signed a deal with the legendary English footballer, who won 19 major trophies including league titles while playing in England, Spain, France and the United States over his 20-year career. Jonas Lygaard, Senior Director Brand & Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V., says, "David Beckham is rightfully a legend within the game, and we are delighted to welcome him to the PES family. His fantastic career and all he has achieved will be faithfully recreated for those playing PES 2018, and we look forward to working with him as we unite to promote PES 2018 as the definitive football title." Players can pick Beckham in the myClub mode of PES 2018, which comes out on consoles (including PS3 and Xbox 360) and PC on September 12th. This includes several different versions of Beckham, each representing a different period in his career. "It is a great honour to join the roster of legends that work with KONAMI as PES Ambassadors," said David Beckham. "I look forward to seeing my career represented in this fantastic game, and working with such a talented team of people who obviously love football as much as I do."
