Joan Collins DBE

Joan Collins is known internationally as an actor, author, producer, entrepreneur and humanitarian.

She is a Golden Globe winner and Emmy-nominee. She was educated at the Francis Holland School and then trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At the young age of 17 she was signed to the J. Arthur Rank Film Company, a British film studio.  Her career flourished as she appeared in more than 60 feature films and dozens of television series, including creating the role of Alexis Carrington on Dynasty, one of the most highly rated television dramas of all time. Her notable guest appearances on American television during the 1960s and 1970s included Batman, The Virginian, Mission: Impossible, Police Woman, and the notable Star Trek episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever". Joan Collins OBE has also established herself as an author. Her novels and memoirs have sold over 50 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 30 languages.

Recognition & Charity Work

A devoted humanitarian, for several decades Ms. Collins has lent her support and celebrity to many charitable causes. These include finding a cure for breast cancer, empowering children with learning disabilities and patronage of the International Foundation for Children with Learning Disabilities, Fight for Sight and the Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Great Britain. She is also the Honorary President of the RADA Associates. In this way she can be of benefit to her former school, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In 1997, Collins was granted the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her contribution to the arts and ongoing charity work. In 2012, Joan appeared in Snicker's Get Some Nuts ad campaign. The TV clip, previously fronted by Mr T, sees the star transform from her diva persona into male football players, after taking a bite of the chocolate bar; coining the catchphrase, 'you're not you when you're hungry'. It is inspired the US Snickers 'road trip' ad fronted by Aretha Franklin and Liza Minnelli. Joan Collins' media experience and keen support of charities make her an ideal choice for a wide variety of events.
