Celebrity Group were on-hand to provide Abbey National with the perfect man in Martin kemp to star in the bank’s new TVC, entitled ‘Blind Date’. The Abbey National TV commercial is one part of a broader communications campaign that will extend from TV through online and press activity.
The former chart-topper turned soap star features in the new Abbey National TV commercial to promote three of the bank’s core propositions: a better mortgage deal, current or savings account, or £50 in return.

In ‘blind date’, Martin goes on a date with a woman whose faux pas threatens to ruin the evening. She throws snails across the room, pours Champagne down her front and air-guitars round a dance-floor, but Martin behaves like the perfect gent.
He then drives her home and invites himself in for a cup of tea, whereupon she flings her arms around him in glee.
The Abbey National director of product acquisition, Gary Brown, said, “The new advertising takes a fun and engaging look at what might happen if your fantasy came true.”
