Merz Aesthetics announced Joe Jonas, a singer, as a spokesperson for the Xeomin brand.

Upon the announcement of the partnership, Patrick Urban, the President of Merz Aesthetics North America says, 'Joe Jonas epitomises what it means to live with confidence. As one of the biggest pop culture icons today, we are excited to partner with him as we aim to inspire women and men everywhere to prioritise self-care and embrace the freedom to make their own aesthetic decisions.

Joe Jonas, the singer and 33-year-old actor, has teamed up with the Merz brand to advertise Xeomin, a new anti-wrinkle injectable that functions as a Botox alternative.

“Making the decision to have an aesthetic treatment was really about self-care and looking and feeling like the best version of myself,” said Joe Jonas in a release. 

A key element of Merz's new "Beauty on Your Terms" campaign for Xeomin is its partnership with Jonas.

Merz's Beauty on Your Own Terms campaign is not the only new marketing push it has undertaken; it has also undertaken the Xeomin brand campaign Pure for a Reason, as well as updated its Xperience + 2.0 program digitally.

As an international pop icon, songwriter, actor, and frontman of the multiplatinum DNCE, Jonas is best known as the front man of the global pop-rock band Jonas Brothers.

For its new campaign to boost Xeomin's use, Merz clearly wants to capitalize on Jonas' confidence and charisma onstage.

Jonas will promote the Beauty campaign across social media, as well as through Merz Aesthetics' Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels.

Additionally, content "will also be integrated across various activations and multiple high-profile cultural moments in time—including New York Fashion Week—and that’s just the beginning," Urban said. 

In 2020, this drug company enlisted the aid of both an Emmy and Oscar award-winning actress as its first ambassador to Xeomin, and this is its second.

Jonas' age also indicates that Merz is going after a younger population for its product. In 2018, it launched a campaign targeting the "Xennial microgeneration," which is the generation between Gen X and Millennials.

In 2011, Xeomin was approved for cosmetic use to temporarily improve frown lines between the eyebrows and was set to go on sale in 2012.

Nevertheless, it was delayed another 10 months after Allergan sued and won an injunction against employees who left Botox for Merz to work on Xeomin.
