In celebration of pride month, Converse has appointed pop star Miley Cyrus as brand ambassador of its ‘Yes To All’ campaign to support LGBTQ youth and equality.
Converse unveiled its limited-edition Pride-focused ‘Yes For All’ sneaker capsule last month, featuring colorful rainbow-themed renditions of Converse’s classic trainers. Now, the iconic brand has announced Miley Cyrus as celebrity spokesperson for the collection.
100% of the net proceeds of direct sales from the Converse Pride Collection goes to charities supporting LGBTQ initiatives, including Miley’s The Happy Hippie Foundation.
The capsule features 22 rainbow styles of the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star trainers and 11 equally colorful T-shirt designs. There’s a limited-edition design to honor the first Pride parade in 1970 in New York City, the option to create your own custom Pride Converse shoes, and more than a dozen posters that can be downloaded, printed, and displayed at local Pride events.
Miley Cyrus comments, “The Happy Hippie Foundation was created to stand up to the injustices LGBTQ youth face on a daily basis in the world today.
Working with Converse as an ally in this movement means the world to me. Converse champions youth and how important it is to give every young individual the ability to raise their voice and define their culture. I’m excited to work alongside a brand that shares both my values and style.”
Converse hopes that people will use the hashtag motto #YesToAll, to spread the message that “whatever your gender, orientation, identity…everyone is free to be who they are.”
