After Dinner Speakers: Zeinab Badawi, Alan Titchmarsh, Chris Bonington

A highly successful TV Presenter and Current Affairs Broadcast Journalist, Zeinab Badawi began her career at Yorkshire TV in 1982 before defecting to the BBC in 1987. During her long and varied career Zeinab has worked as a newscaster for ITN presenting Channel 4 News, a broadcaster on BBC World Service and a live Political Programmer for the BBC. A champion of human rights and race relations issues, she is the Vice President of the United Nations International Association, the chair of the Article 19 International Organisation for Freedom of Speech, an advisor to the Foreign Policy Centre and a member of the Hansard Commission on Parliamentary Accountability. Zeinab is an authoritative speaker on many topics including the role of the broadcast media in maintaining global ethics, the theme of a recent address to the One World Trust. She is also a highly accomplished conference host and chair, having amongst others chaired the Conference on Environmental Issues in Disaster Prevention, Preparedness and Response in March 1999 with Green Cross International President, Mikhail Gorbachev. Of dual Sudanese and British nationality, Zeinab is one of Britain’s most respected and politically aware television journalists.
