After Dinner Speakers: Vanessa Feltz, Marti Webb, Hazel O'Connor

Born on 21st February 1962, Vanessa Feltz's career peaked when she hosted TV's daytime chat programme 'The Vanessa Show'. Things started to go wrong when she demanded that her fees should be doubled to £2.75m. Independent TV company Anglia felt able to decline her offer and she defected to the BBC. Unfortunately, her show flopped and the BBC let her go. Then her husband - surgeon Michael Kurer - left her. Vanessa re-invented herself by losing lots of weight and taking on a toy boy. Depending on your viewpoint, her unforgettable appearance on Celeb Big Brother made her a national figue of fun or an intensely fragile and human person.
