After Dinner Speakers: The Who, Edward Goldsmith, Joe Pasquale
British Rock band The Who were one of the most influential acts of the nineteen sixties and seventies, being the primary influence for ‘mod’ fashion and culture. With such hits as My Generation, Substitute and Pinball Wizard they were and still are one of the biggest selling bands of all time.
Original wild man drummer Keith Moon died of a drugs overdose in 1978 whilst bassist, John Entwhistle suffered a fatal heart attack in a Las Vegas hotel on the eve of the bands 2001 US tour.
Entwhistle was also the musical director on the bands movie soundtracks for Quadrophenia and biopic, The Kids are Alright.
The remaining original band members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry, have calmed down since getting a reputation for wrecking hotel rooms, they remain truly iconic figures of modern times.
