After Dinner Speakers: Tears for Fears, Alan Price, Tom Cannon
At last, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have put the word 'end' to the many rumours about a Tears for Fears reunion which is now, by all effects, reality. The duo, who wanted 'to rule the world' in the 80's, split up in 1992, when Curt Smith, after the thousandth argument with fellow group member Orzabal, decided to leave the band, thus making 'Elemental' a Roland Orzabal solo album. During the splitup period, both members hadn't enjoyed big success as performers (Orzabal's songs have been released under the TFF brand, Curt founded a band called Mayfield). Orzabal, though, has produced, together with Eg of Eg & Alice fame, Emiliana Torrini's brilliant debut, 'Love in the time of science'.
Of course, Tears for Fears have announced a new record and a 'nostalgia' tour, the best chance to hear those original songs from that original band. Now, everyone expects some of those tunes we all loved to sing in the times of old. Even if they're gonna be songs from the small chair, well, who's going to care anyway...
