After Dinner Speakers: Stirling Moss, Gene Krantz, Kevin Costner
Sir Stirling Moss is Britains most admired and respected motor racing driver of his era, and one of the best racing drivers never to win the Formula 1 World Championship. In his career in formula 1 he won 16 of his 66 Grand Prix races between 1951 and 1961. For most of his career he was unfortunate to race against Juan Manuel Fangio whom he was runner-up to in the Championship in three successive years. In 1955 he became the first Englishman to win the British Grand Prix, a success he repeated in 1957.After driving for various teams over the years from Maserati to Lotus, Stirling was severely injured in a crash in 1962. After a slow recovery he realised he would never regain all of his old skills which signalled the end of his career.Stirling is still a massive attraction at any event. He is an excellant after dinner speaker who will captivate any audience.
