With eight World records and two Olympic Gold medals during his career, Sebastian Coe is one of the great names of British sport.In 1979 Coe became the first man in more than 50 years to set world records at both 800m and 1500m. He also held the record for a mile and he soon added the 1000m record to his list making him the holder for a short time of four world records simultaneously. In 1980 at the Moscow Olympics he won Gold at 1500m.In 1981, Sebastian broke records again, bringing his total to eight. At the 1984 Olympics he set an Olympic record at 1500m winning his second Olympic Gold.Since his last race in September 1989, Sebastian has pursued a political career, becoming Conservative MP for Falmouth and Cambourne in 1992. In 1997 he was appointed Private Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition, Wiliam Hague MP.Sebastian is a highly accomplished speaker on political issues and his sporting achievements.
