After Dinner Speakers: Ruud Gullit, Geoff Thompson, Michael Douglas

Gullit, as a player, had everything. He has skills, he has the speed and he is tough. He was one of the most versatile players, he can do well in attack, as well as in defence. His glorious year were with AC Milan in the late 80's. He also captained Holland to her first major championship in 1988. His powerful header in the final just showed the kind of power player he was. Injuries slowed him down in the early 90's, but he found new life after moving to Chelsea in 1995. He took the chance of becoming a player-manager in 1996 when Glen Hoddle left to manage England. He became the youngest manager to win the FA Cup a year later. He was also the first non-British manager to do so. However, things took a different turn, he was later fired as the new contract talk broke down with Chelsea. He took over in New Castle in the new season, but it was very short-lived as New Castle had a very poor start of the season.
