After Dinner Speakers: Rik Mayall, Simple Minds, Nigel Temple
Rik Mayall is considered by many to be the top British actor/comedian in the entertainment world today. Known for his wild, loud, brash and often-violent characterisations, Rik's comedic style has never been duplicated.
Rik's parents, John and Gillian, were both drama teachers who met at London's Central School of Speech and Drama.
Rik's stage debut was at the age of six, when he appeared in a crowd scene in his father's production of The Good Woman of Setzuan. It wasn't until college when he met Adrian Edmondson to form the most unique and popular comedy relationships; together they still run their comedy group called Twentieth Century Coyote.
Famous for characters such as Kevin Turvey, Bottom and Alan B’Stard but best loved for The Young ones, co written with Ben Elton.
His survival of a near fatal accident in 1998 has inspired him to new and exciting acting challenges
