Richard Noble has been obsessed with speed since a very youg age. Having returned to the UK in 1974, after various expeditions to countries such as India and Afghanistan, Richard set about breaking the land speed record with Project Thrust. Entirely alone and self taught he built Thrust 1 which failed and crashed when travelling at 200 mph. Still determined Richard overcame different problems and setbacks to build Thrust 2 with outside help and funding, and in 1983 in the Black Rock desert, Thrust 2 reached 633 mph breaking the world record. Although to take the car Superonic Richard handed the to controls to Squadron Leader Andy Green he made all the headlines as he had run the projest and made it his life's ambition to break the record.Richard is now a highly sought after motivational speaker for conferences and a hugely entertaining after dinner speaker.
