After Dinner Speakers: Pam Ayers, Anita Roddick, Leslie Ash
Pam Ayres is famous for her hilarious poetry and writing on subjects ranging from the great suet puddings of the fifties, to the poignant Saint Tesco by way of The Dolly on the Dustcart and Dry Stone Walling. She writes with great wit and perspicacity on the pollution of our beaches, the rigours of the gym and the infernal lure of the National Lottery.
Pam first came to public attention when reciting her hilarious poems on New Faces in the 1970s, where she was a unique variety talent, so different from the customary singers and comedians of that era. Pam remains as refreshing and entertaining as ever.
