After Dinner Speakers: Mel & Sue, Rachel Heyhoe-Flint, Maureen Lipman

Mel and Sue are that unique act, an all female act not reliant on any particular comedy style; instead they produce a universally liked banter with more than a hint of sharp observation and cynicism. Mel came to the world of comedy through theatre and Sue, more traditionally through Edinburgh Footlight and Cambridge University productions. Presenters of the hugely successful Light Lunch and with several guest appearances on shows like The Vicar of Dibley, Mel and Sue are fast becoming the premier comedy double act in Britain. The pair have also recently gained a niche position in commercial advertising with their series of bread adverts, based on Light Lunch, but as Sue Perkins proved on Celebrity Big Brother, they are seriously funny on their own.
