Working on DIY SOS has been 'a lot grubbier' than Lowri's other work as a presenter, having inspected living rooms with rubble floors, kitchens with leaky roofs and bedrooms with holes in the walls.
Lowri's television career began in 1993, when she joined GMTV as a fashion correspondent. The following year, Lowri moved to BBC ONE's Good Morning with Anne and Nick and she also presented live studio items for London Tonight. Apart from television, Lowri has also worked on radio, and from 1996 to 1997, she presented the eponymous Lowri Turner Show for Liberty Radio.
Since October 1999, Lowri has presented BBC ONE's DIY SOS, which is about to embark on its seventh series. She also presented the first three series of the BBC daytime show Housecall.
As well as featuring as a guest panellist on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5, Lowri also writes for various national newspapers and magazines. Her first novel, Stripped Bare, is to be published in 2003.
