Kriss is famous for his achievements in Athletics where his greatest individual triumph was his Gold Medal in the 1990 European Championships when he also beat David Hemery's 22 year old British Record. He began his International career in 1983 as a member of the 4x400 metre relay squad and will probably always be remembered for helping Britain clinch the Gold and beat the Americans in the World Championships 4x400 metre relay in Tokyo in 1991.
In 1992 Kriss was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in her Birthday Honour's List in recognition of his services to the country through athletics.
Kriss Akabusi born in London in 1958 of Nigerian parents is married to Monika with whom he has two children Ashanti and Shakira. Currently living in Buckinghamshire where he can be found walking in the surrounding countryside and participating in various sports including basketball, tennis and football. As a Christian he regularly attends his local church.
Kriss' character and personality were first identified by the media and entertainment industry whilst he was a competing athlete. His first break into tele visual communications came in 1993 when he presented the Big Breakfast. This was followed rapidly with a full time position as a co-presenter on Record Breakers. He has gone on to present various children's programmes, in particular Saturday morning television. He appears regularly on various game programmes (game and chat shows) anywhere where the brief is fun and entertainment. Appearances are not restricted to television, he can often be heard on the radio debating serious topics of the day.
