Kirsty Wark joined the BBC as a radio researcher in 1976 after a degree in Scottish Studies at Edinburgh University. She then moved to producing, and subsequently presenting a few years later. Kirsty fronted Edinburgh Nights from the Edinburgh Festival for three years running and the Nelson Mandela Concert at Wembley. She has also presented General Election Night coverage for 1987, 92 and 97. Named as journalist of the year by BAFTA Scotland in 1993 and Best TV presenter in 1997, Kirsty was also chosen as Scot of the Year in 1998. She is a highly accomplished and professional speaker.
