Helena Bonham Carter was born on 26th May 1966 in Golders Green, London, England. She was born into a family of politicians and film professionals and is the great-granddaughter of H.H. Asquith, British Prime Minister from 1908-1916
She began acting and writing whilst still in prep-school and passed up university in favour of acting at the age of 18 when Trevor Nunn cast her as Lady Jane Grey in Lady Jane.
It was not until her next film A Room with a View, in which she played Lucy Honeychurch opposite Daniel Day Lewis, that she was noticed.
In between her many subsequent films Helena as managed TV appearances which include A Pattern of Roses; A Hazard of Hearts; Rik Mayall Presents and many more.
Famously partnered with Kenneth Branagh until 1999 Helena is a wonderfully entertaining speaker from the glamorous world of TV and film.
