After Dinner Speakers: Harry Jr. Connick, Juan Pablo Montoya, Buzz Aldrin
Growing up in New Orleans, Harry Connick studied with piano legends Ellis Marsalis and James Booker and jammed with Wynton Marsalis. Connick first performed publicly at age five and appeared on his first jazz recording at age ten, becoming a fixture at clubs in the French Quarter. Within a year of moving to New York at the age of 18, he had recorded his self-titled major-label debut for Columbia.
Connick’s introduction to mass audiences came when film director Rob Reiner asked him to contribute the score to 'When Harry Met Sally.' The project marked his first big-band recording and his first multi-platinum album.
With numerous chart-topping albums since, Harry has remained an iconic performer with a huge base of enthusiastic fans. Undoubtedly one of the most talented jazz singers and writers of recent times, Harry Connck junior has been dubbed ‘the new Sinatra’ A great tribute indeed.
