Gianluca Vialli was born on 9th July 1964 in Cremona in Italy. He had a dazzling career in top flight Italian football with Sampdoria and Juventus, winning the European Cup.in 1996. He played for Italy 59 times and scored 16 times. Moving to Chelsea at the start of their re-emergence as a top-flight team he again won cup honours under the guidance of Ruud Gullit. Vialli was surprisingly appointed manager upon Gullits departure but he continued successfully with Chelsea, winning the FA cup once again and becoming one of an elite band to win that honour as both player and manager. Having had a spell as manager at Watford Gianluca is many peoples favourite to become the next Italian national coach. An immensely popular figure, always humorous and dignified in his delivery.
