After Dinner Speakers: Geoff Cooke, Gareth Edwards, Nobby Stiles
Geoff Cooke spent most of his life in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). His first job on the South African Railways became his hobby and he started a company giving technical support to theatre, film and television.
In 1999 the train business was sold. Geoff once more wanted to do new things, which, of course, included the railway. He organised a Steam Railway Festival and started working as a tour host to groups visiting southern Africa. Recognised as one of Africa's leading authorities in tourist train operations, Geoff has travelled on most of the continent's tourist trains, as well as many that are not so famous.
Geoff and his wife, Sheelagh, recently moved to the UK, where Geoff had for many years wanted to run tours to the Great Little Trains of Wales. These tours are the culmination of that desire, or should it be passion?
