After Dinner Speakers: Fiona Phillips, Frederick Forsyth, Ricki Lake

Fiona Phillips presents GMTV with Eamonn Holmes every weekday morning from 7.00am. Fiona was born in Canterbury on January 1st 1961 and educated in Southampton. She graduated from the University of Birmingham from B.A. (Hons) in English and then went on to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in radio journalism. She started her career in journalism in independent radio working for local stations County Sound, Hereward Radio and Radio Mecury, before moving on to join BBCS's South and East Weekend Programme as co-presenter. She then joined Sky News as a reporter and later became Sky News entertainment's editor, producing, reporting and presenting Sky's entertainment output. She joined GMTV at the beginnning of 1993 as entertainment correspondent and was promoted to GMTV/Reuters Television's LA correspondent in December 1993. For two years Fiona provided daily/weekly reports, features and celebrity interviews. She covered a variety of news stories including the alleged Michael Jackson child molestation case, the LA earthquake, the OJ Simpson trial and interviewed some of the screen's hottest names from Demi Moore to Clint Eastwood, Bette Midlerand Mel Gibson. In 1996 Fiona was nominated for the RTS interviewer of the Year Award. Fiona has also presented Carlton's entertainment guide Good Stuff and LWT's Friday evening entertainment show Start the Weekend. She is involved in numerous charity organisations and is a patron of the Cancer Research Campaign,Stroke Association, Parkinson's Disease, The Childrens Society and PDSA.
