After serving in the RAF and the Merchant Navy, Dickie joined Southern Television in 1960 as a newscaster and announcer. In 1965 he was invited to present 'World of Sport' for ITV which he did regularly until 1985. He has also presented programmes including the Olympic Games, International Snooker and the World Athletics Championships, as well as several series of 'Sportsmaster' for ITV.Dickie has been the host for awards such as the 'Panasonic Sports Awards' and co-hosted 'Friday Night Live'. He has also worked for Classic FM and SKY TV presenting regular sports items.Dickie is a very experienced awards host and amusing after dinner speaker.
