After Dinner Speakers: Dermot O'Leary, Bjorn Borg, Jose Carreras
As one of the talented members of the T4 team Dermot is hugely popular with the Sunday viewers. The show is live from 9am to 5pm and gives Dermot the opportunity to show his natural wit, charm and rapport with the guests and audience. Dermot can currently be seen presenting ‘The Barfly Sessions’ on Channel 4 showcasing up and coming new indie bands. He has recently finished co-presenting from the sunny island of Ibiza with Jayne Middlemiss in ‘The Dogs Balearics’ on Channel 4, as well as guest presenting on ‘The Big Breakfast’ Channel 4 with Liza Tarbuck. You can also hear Dermot hosting his own radio show on XFM 104.9 every Friday and Saturday between 10.00am and 1.00pm. As if this isn’t enough Dermot writes a regular column for Sky magazine ‘Dermot’s Creek’ where he tells the readers what he’s been up to, shares anecdotes and generally makes us laugh. He is constantly developing pilots and programme ideas and is in the process of setting up his own production company. Dermot has recently been seen co-presenting Channel 4’s ‘The Bigger Breakfast’ during college holidays where his energetic and charismatic personality was ideally suited to the show’s style and it’s viewers. Until last year Dermot worked on two other Channel 4 shows – both sports related – ‘No Balls Allowed’ with Margarita Taylor, which he co-wrote, and ‘Inside Rugby’ with Thierry Lacroix. Both programmes allowed Dermot to indulge in one of his passions, sport in particular extreme adrenaline sports and activities. Dermot’s first terrestrial job was as a reporter on BBC’s ‘Fully Booked’.
