David was born October 25, 1962 in Toronto, Canada at Women's College Hospital. David went to England when he was 27 and built a life there. He got a job as a highly-paid ad executive with Ogilvy and Mather in London. He was also the youngest member of the Board of Directors, responsible for a team of people bringing in lots of business at which he was quite successful at. David met Elton at a dinner party through mutual friends on October 30, 1993. By the end of the night Elton and David had very strong, deep feelings for each other, possibly love at first sight. Elton had asked David for his phone number. The next day they had their first date, October 31, 1993 over Chinese take-out. Mr Chow's. David and Elton have been totally committed to each other for 8 years. David once formed a company, Grace Productions, with a friend, Nick Love. They did some short films for Channel Four(British Television). When arriving to England, David enrolled in the British Film Institute. Elton and David formed their own Film Producing company called Rocket Pictures. Soon to be released is their first film project "Women Talking Dirty" in 2000. David is the co-producer along with Polly Steele. Elton and David were at the Toronto Film Festival in September 1999, for its first viewing. Elton had asked David to do a video documentary on him. And David followed Elton around for 1 year 1994-1995 and made "Tantrums and Tiaras". David's first well-know directing project. David and Elton have many things in common. David loves to play tennis and loved movies and film-making all his life. David attended the University in Canada and was an excellent student. David has always had a head for business. When growing up he launched a poolside catering business for a local golf and tennis club and did very well. David has a great sense of humor and is a very sensitive, shy person. He has two brothers, John who is 3 years older and Peter who is 8 years younger. Both are married and have children. David was not a big fan of Elton's as growing up. The first Elton album he bought Caribu. He loved disco music. But his favorite Elton song is "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" and loves to travel with Elton when he's on tour. David also had an interest in music. At one point he was learning the cello. But now he's interested in horse riding, has his own horse and he gallops through Windsor Great Park when at home.
