After Dinner Speakers: Craig Charles, John Sessions, James Orchestra Last
Actor, comedian and poet Craig Charles, best known as cheeky slob Lister in the legendary BBC space sitcom ‘Red Dwarf’, was born in Liverpool in 1964. He won the Guardian newspaper's poetry prize at the age of 12, started a band at 15, and joined Red Dwarf in 1987. Charles has also played a prison inmate in Lynda La Plante's ‘The Governor’, was the team captain on Channel 4's ‘Space Cadets’, and he's published ‘No Other Blue’, a volume of street poetry. He’s also established himself on our screens as the host of ‘Robot Wars’ and has filmed a series for Bravo entitiled ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’. Craig still tours with his live comedy show and is a fantastic entertainer – his trademark scouse charm makes every live appearance a joy.
