After Dinner Speakers: Bruce Willis, John Inverdale, Bananarama
A relaxed, raffish performer whose ironic style and working-class persona have made him a fan favorite - Bruce Willis grew up in New Jersey and began acting in college. While starring in the hit television show Moonlighting, (1985-89) Willis made the leap to the big screen, starring in Blind Date with Kim Basinger. In 1988 he starred in the action blockbuster Die Hard, whose success spawned two sequels. In spite of a string of bad movies, Willis became one of the biggest movie stars of the 1990s, and his 12- year marriage to Demi Moore was constant fodder for the gossip sheets. He has appeared in several smaller parts as well as leading roles, including appearances in Pulp Fiction (1994, with Ving Rhames), 12 Monkeys (1995, co-starring Brad Pitt), The Sixth Sense (1999) and Unbreakable (2000, with Samuel L. Jackson).
