After Dinner Speakers: Beverley Turner, Christopher Reeve, John Virgo
Her intelligence, ability to master any subject matter and aptitude for working under pressure whilst employing her initiative at all times, teamed with her natural, easy going nature and stunning good looks, have ensured that she is in constant demand as a presenter for a wide range of programming.
At present, Beverley is the fresh new face of ITV's flagship Formula 1 coverage, where she reports exclusive 'behind-the-scenes' stories, bringing to life the extravaganza of the world's greatest motor-racing championships.
The move to F1 comes after three seasons as the sole presenter on ITV's successful Saturday afternoon magazine show rounding up events in the world of American Basketball. The NBA experience saw Beverley reporting courtside from matches in the US and negotiating difficult interview access with some of America's biggest basketball stars.
Despite being an integral member of the ITV sport's presentation team, Beverley's interests extend well beyond the sporting arena. In addition to fronting ITV2's highly successful first year of coverage of the Tour de France, Bev has spent much of this summer on Granada's This Morning, fulfilling the role of entertainment correspondent, reporting on all of the latest entertainment stories and reviewing all of the latest film releases.
In 2000 Beverley presented The Mix for ITV2 that led to her being chosen as the presenter of Carlton Television's weekly music show, Videotech - for which she wrote the scripts and devised the interviews. Her natural ease in front of the camera and willingness to 'get stuck in' have made her a popular choice for guest appearances on - amongst others -They Think It's All Over (BBC1 - 2002), SM:tv (ITV - 2000 & 2001) and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2 - 2002).
All of this follows her background as a competitive swimmer, professional model and graduate in English Literature/Language from Manchester University, where she gained a first-class degree. This combination of sport, writing and travel inspired Bev to embark on a foray into journalism and to date she has written for publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Mirror, Glamour, Total Sport and The Daily Express. She also secured an exclusive interview in New York with Jennifer Lopez for Marie Claire Health & Beauty. In her capacity as a journalist, Beverley has also appeared on various programmes such as Richard & Judy (CH4) and The Thing About Beckham (CH5).
Beverley's passion for health, fitness and women's issues, recently led to her becoming the youngest ever patron of the FPA (Family Planning Association), alongside such luminaries as Dr Miriam Stoppard and Jenni Murray. Beverley hopes to develop this role as a campaigner for sexual health and a commentator on sexual politics.
Hosting the Maxim Grooming awards, co-hosting the FHM Menswear awards with Mark Lamarr, launching Jordan's F1 car and hosting this year's Auto Express Honours awards, Beverley has proved that she is more than capable of captivating a live audience - no matter how rowdy!
Beverley's media career is going from strength to strength and 2002 promises to be the best year yet.
