Before the names Boris Becker and Michael Schumaker was ever heard, Bernard Langer was Germanys sports icon, his high profile along with that of Seve Ballesteros has done much to raise the popularity of golf in Europe. On the European Tour, Langer has 37 wins and was the Order of Merit champion in 1981 and 1984. He holds the European Tour record for consecutive cuts made with 68 and shares the tours record for most consecutive years with a victory with Seve.
