Alastair began his career in televison in1976 with Southern Television and moved to ITN as an industrial correspondant in 1980 and became a newscaster a year later. He has covered the Budget since 1983 and the General Election in 1992 and 1997. Alastair spent several years as a foreign correspondant in Suadi Arabia, Washington and Kuwait. He has also provided commentary for many of ITN's speacial programmes such as state openings of Parliament and royal weddings. Alastair currently presents 'The Sunday Programe with Alastair Stewart', 'London Today' and is presenter of ITV's highest ever rated factual programme 'Police Stop'.He is aa extremely professional conference chair and awards host aswell as being a brilliant after dinner speaker.
