After Dinner Speakers: Victor Ebubedike, Michel Roux, Perry McCarthy
Victor Ebubedike, #29, almost broke into the world of professional American football with the help of the World League and the Operation Discover program. In 1990 he was signed by the New York Jets, but was released during preseason. His signing was foreshadowed by his phenomenal success playing American Football in England.
When he placed with the London Ravens in the Budweiser League from 1986-89 he scored 66 TD's and ran for 3,770 yards, with a spectacular 8.9 yards per carry average. He received the National League's "Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year" three times and won four National Championships with the Ravens. In 1989, as team captain, he led the team to victory in the European Championships and was named the "European Most Valuable Player"
Ebubedike dedicates much of his off time working with able and disabled children. He has done volunteer work with children for inner London during summer holidays.
