He was brought back to British Leyland by the Sir Michael Edwards to become World Sales Chief, to restore sales of Jaguar and BL in world markets and to get to grips with the massive industrial relations problems.Tony was awarded the Fellowship of the Institute of Marketing and became known as "The man who launched a million motor cars". Under this label he was appointed Marketing Advisor to the Secretary of State for Energy and earned Directorships in many major British Companies.
