After Dinner Speakers: Tim Brooke-Taylor, Colin Powell, Gareth Edwards
Tim Brooke-Taylor first started writing and acting at Cambridge University, where he was president of the famous Footlights club. His fellow writers/performers in the 1963 revue, “Cambridge Circus” included John Cleese, Bill Oddie, Graham Chapman and Graeme Garden. His television series have included “At Last the 1948 Show”, “Me and My Girl”, and of course “The Goodies”, which won the award, The Silver roses of Montreux. Regularly working on the stage, Tim’s notable successes have been starring with Graeme Garden in “The Unvarnished Truth,” more recently with Edward Fox in “The Philanthropist,” and has appeared in three highly successful Derek Nimmo tours, such as Alan Ayckbourn’s “Table Manners”. Films have included Twelve Plus One, where he co-wrote and acted with Orson Welles, and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Having written three books, and appeared in numerous radio series, including, I’m sorry “I’ll Read That Again,” Tim is a charismatic and creative speaker with huge performing experience and many years of charming tales to tell.
