Terry Waite Former Archbishop of Canterbury special envoy first hit the headlines in the early 1980s for successfully negotiating the release of hostages in Iran and Libya. In 1987 he became a household name when he was taken prisoner himself while negotiating for western hostages in the Lebanon - and held for more than five years. Following his release, he became an international campaigner for humanitarian issues, helping numerous organisations including Amnesty, Victim Support and the YMCA.
Currently a Fellow of Cambridge University, Terry Waite endured an unthinkable ordeal as a direct result of helping others. He ha a truly fantastic story to tell.
