After Dinner Speakers: Stacey Young, Alistair Little, Andrew Dilnot
Stacey Young's story is a classic one, one that every woman aspires - a successful career as a top model and TV presenter, married to a rock star, and three beautiful children.
Stacey left school in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex at 16 and joined London's top model agency Select Models. She quickly became one of the countries top models - as the original Guess? Jeans girl, and appearing in the worldwide TV commercial for Pepsi. Then whilst on a job in 1982 she met Britains number one rock star of the time Paul Young when she appeared in the video for his smash-hit Come Back and Stay. They quickly became one of the hottest couples in the country, courted by the worlds press. Four years later they married and had their first child, Levi (aged 13), and went on to have two more children, Layla (aged 5) and Grady (aged 4). They still remain one of Englands top celebrity couples.
In between having children Stacey continued to model appearing in campaigns for Marks and Spencer, C & A, and Dorothy Perkins. However Stacey put her career on hold to devote her time to bringing up her young children. But now Stacey, at 35, has relaunched her career as a top model working for Next, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, Next, Amanda Wakeley, Hardy Amies, Isabell Kristensen, GUS, and George @ Asda. Stacey has also moved into the world of television, having co-presented Mr & Mrs with Julian Clary for ITV and contributed to GMTV, This Morning and Wish You Were Here. She currently presents Polo on Sky Sports.
