After Dinner Speakers: Sally Meen, Geraldine Ferraro, Emma Jones
Sally Meen is an experienced presenter with skills in studio, lives and pre-records. She has a journalistic background and started her career in news at TSW, quickly moving to Central TV. She was spotted and chosen to become part of the original line up on GMTV. Her initial role was weather correspondent, but her apparent talent for reporting and obvious people skills led her to cover current news issues and entertainment. Sally spent five happy years with GMTV until deciding to move on, four years ago.
Sally’s many recent TV credits include becoming a main face on Carlton Food Network, cooking ‘live’ and travelling all over the World for ‘Food Network Daily’. The channel gave Sally her own programme ‘Chocolate Covered’ (22 episodes). Sally can currently be seen filling in on ‘Good Food Live’ for UK Food.
Sally studied dance and drama from the age of four and has a talent for theatre and light entertainment. Her ability to sing, dance and play the piano helped her move to BBC1’s ‘Generation Game’ which she co hosted with Jim Davison for two seasons.
After buying and restoring seven houses, and designing and decorating perfumier Jo Malone’s Chelsea home, American Vogue ran a five page piece on Sally’s work. This led to her becoming one of BBC 1’s ‘Real Rooms’ new designers.
Sally’s extensive knowledge and true love of worldwide travel has meant that she is in demand on ‘TV Travel Shop’, a job she fits in amongst her many other commitments.
Over three years, Sally hosted her own daily three hour show on Liberty London radio; she then hosted the breakfast show on ‘Talk Radio’.
Apart from Sally’s media skills she is a qualified cook and speaks fluent French. When she’s not working out in the gym she can be seen walking her two bearded collies on Clapham Common. Her passion for animals has lead her to take an active role in fund raising for the
National Canine Defence League.
