Robert Youngjohns is Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa for Sun Microsystems. He took this role in April 1998 after two years running the Sun Microsystems Computer business in the UK. Before joining Sun, Robert spent 15 years in IBM in a variety of roles ranging from Systems Engineering to General Management. Robert graduated from Oriel College, Oxford where he read Physics and Philosophy. Robert's objectives for Sun are to position the company as a provider of systems for the Enterprise. As a company that is clearly focussed on Systems platforms, this requires a close working relationship with the software vendors and integrators in order to deliver a full solution to a customers business problems. This 'coalition' selling is at the heart of Sun's business model and an area in which Robert is making major investments throughout his territory
