After Dinner Speakers: Rachel Heyhoe-Flint, Julian Lloyd-Webber, Toyah Willcox

Rachael Heyhoe Flint is Britain’s best-known Women’s Cricket player having captained the England Women’s Cricket team from 1966-1977. She served as an International for an outstanding 23 years, the high point being her 179 versus Australia at The Oval in 1976 which was the world record score for England and the world’s fourth highest score by a woman in Test Cricket.Rachael also played hockey for England in 1964, further consolidating her understanding of what makes good teamwork. Her love of sport continues despite her retirement from cricket: she is a PR consultant and board member for her beloved home football team Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, the vice president of the Cricketers Club of London and a member of the advisary board for the Faldo Junior Series. She is also a keen golfer and a PR consultant for the La Manga club in Spain. After having her application refused the first time round Rachael was finally appointed an honorary life member of the MCC in 1999 – although long overdue she was still the first woman to receive this honour. Rachael was also awarded the MBE in 1971. Her high profile on the speaking circuit is demonstrated by the fact that she was presented with Best After Dinner Speaker by the Guild of Professional Toastmasters in 1972. Rachel is also hugely in demand for motivational speaking and conference chairing. She is married with one son.
