After Dinner Speakers: Phil Edmonds, Run DMC, The Lighthouse Family

Phil Edmonds was born in Rhodesia in 1951 and could have played for Zimbabwe, had his career started after apartheid ended. Instead he bowled left arm spin for his naturalised England. Phil Edmonds test career lasted from 1975 until 1987 during which time he evolved from all rounder and understudy to Derek Underwood into the selectors first choice spin bowler. Despite his laconic style, Phil Edmonds is a true competitor, a fact demonstrated by his amazing debut performance of 5 for 17 in his first twelve overs. Recognised as a bowler of classic style and near perfect technique, Phil Edmonds is a true exponent of the spinners art.
