Sir Peter de la Billiere was commander of the British forces during the Gulf War, and has been described by The Daily Telegraph as a 'soldier who from the most undisciplined and unpromising beginnings achieved complete mastery of himself and the men who fought under him'.In 1956 he began a career of some twenty years much of it with the Special Air Service, during which time he served in Malasia, Borneo, Sudan and various Middlle Eastern countries.In the wake of the Gulf War he was appointed Middle Eastern advisor to the British Government. After leaving the army in 1992, Sir Peter was a Main Board Director of Robert Fleming & Co for six years and until 1999 was Chairman of Flemings' Middle Eastern division. He has also written two best selling books, Storm Command, and Looking For Trouble.Sir Peter is an excellant speaker on leadership and motivation, and on Middle Eastern affairs.
