Paul Nicholas starred as Vincent Pinner in the hit sitcom ‘Just Good Friends’ It was a role which made him a household name, and it won him a BAFTA nomination as best comedy actor and the series a BAFTA winner. His theatrical success began in 1969 in the original London production of Hair and he went on to do lead roles in Jesus Christ Superstar and Grease as well as playing Rum Tum Tugger in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. In 1992 he formed a production company with fellow actor David Ian. They produced Evita, Singing in the Rain and Pirates of Penzance as well as co-producing two of London's biggest hit musicals, Grease and Saturday Night Fever. A venture into pop singing in 1976 resulted in four top 10 hits, including the infamous Grandmas Party, like Paul himself, a never to be forgotten classic
