Paul McGann is a British actor is known best for his role in the hugely funny cult film Withnail & I alongside Richard E Grant and for made for television films such as Doctor Who.
Born in 1959, in Liverpool, Paul has three brothers who are also actors: Joe, Mark, Stephen and a sister named Clare Paul, a student at a Jesuit grammar school, was urged to audition and later accepted RADA where he honed his acting abilities.
Paul suffered a knee injury while playing football with the production crew of Sharpe in 1991 that lost him the lead in that series, but quickly recovered from it, going on to play two roles in The Three Musketeers in 1993.
